Affordable insurance 

As a RAV Member, you have the choice to opt into the most affordable, comprehensive insurance package for artists and arts organisations for an additional fee. 

Combined Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance for Individuals (opt in)

Each year RAV takes out master policies on behalf of Members. Our Combined Liability policy (public, products and advertising liability included) has a combined total liability cover of $20M. Combined Liability insurance offers protection to you for claims involving bodily injury and property damage resulting from your products, services or operations. Our Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) policy has a limit of $10,000,000 and protects Members for claims related to advice, services and professional expertise you provide (PII is available to purchase from (30 July 2026, cover begins 31 October 2026).

Association liability insurance provides protection to the organisation, including directors and officers, committee members arising from any claim for any wrongful act, including, but not limited to, employment practice breach, fraud and dishonesty, occupational health and safety defence costs, statutory liability (fines and penalties), for which the insurer agrees to pay on behalf of the association. 

Personal Accident for Volunteer Workers Insurance (inc. in Membership)

Personal Accident Insurance for Volunteer Workers protects volunteers and Members from expenses incurred due to injury sustained while engaged in official unpaid voluntary activities.

$64 / $58 conc. Annual Membership only

$309 / $278 conc. Annual Membership with Combined Liability Insurance

New Members joining from late-July receive bonus months on our current policy at no extra cost, however you can join at any time throughout the year. Note, Professional Indemnity cover does not commence until 31 October 2026 and is not part of bonus months offer.

New Members that join between 1 December and July are eligible for pro-rata rates on both Membership and optional Combined Liability Insurance fees.

All prices are inclusive of GST and administration fees.

Eligibility

If you are applying as an organisation who is:

  1. Incorporated or a not-for-profit or charitable organisation; or,
    a small creative for-profit business with a gross annual income under $1M
  2. Based in Victoria, or have their principal place of business in Victoria
  3. Have the promotion of regional arts or cultural pursuits as a primary or principal focus.

Organisations <$100,000: $333* Annual Membership

  • Not-for-profit organisations: the Base Fee includes Association Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance for Volunteer Workers.
  • For-profit organisations: the Base Fee includes Personal Accident Insurance for Volunteer Workers.

*This is the Base Fee; Combined Liability Insurance is an optional add on, fee calculated based on gross annual income. See Table of Fees below.

Organisations >$100,000: $412* Annual Membership

  • Not-for-profit organisations: the Base Fee includes Association Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance for Volunteer Workers.
  • For-profit organisations**: the Base Fee includes Personal Accident Insurance for Volunteer Workers.
