Martin lives and creates art in Castlemaine, on Djaara Country. He has completed a Masters of Contemporary Art at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and was awarded the Majlis Encouragement Award at the VCA Graduate Show in 2019. Martin also holds a Graduate Certificate in Visual Art from VCA, 2017, a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons), 2007, from Federation University and a Bachelor of Art (Ceramic Design) from Monash University, 1992.

Martin is the host of 'Still Life With Pansy', a weekly show focused on queer art and artists, broadcast on Castlemaine's community radio 94.9 MainFM.
