The Island Story Gatherers Inc are a volunteer community organisation who believe that ‘Everyone Has A Story’ and who wish to provide a platform for these stories to be presented. 

We believe that storytelling is embedded in and strengthens all cultures and we aim to strengthen community through encouraging, challenging and inspiring residents and visitors to listen to and tell stories.

We endeavour to celebrate all forms of storytelling; including songs, comedy, visual art, local history stories, poetry, theatre, film and published authors.

We held our inaugural Phillip Island Literary Festival in 2017 and it was a huge success. Our 2018 festival was also exceptionally well-received and focussed on stories of survival. Artists were selected in accordance with the nominated themes of mental health, dispossession, racism, true local history, survival and the ability to overcome all odds. Our 2019 Phillip Island Festival of Stories is shaping up to be another fantastic event; one that we hope will remain in the hearts and minds of the audience for years to come.
