Electric Light Theatre, or ELT as it is affectionately known has been teaching young people the skills of stagecraft and performance with the first show hitting the stage in 1985. We are a volunteer-based incorporated amateur production company. ELT provides the opportunity for Sunraysia youth (aged 10 to 25) to participate in a spectacular annual variety performance - a combination of dance, singing, acting and stage craft. No prior experience is required and ELT embraces people from all walks of life. Our rehearsal season is from October to February, with 4 performances at Mildura Arts Centre Theatre in February each year. We generally open applications for cast in August and conduct auditions in September. ELT is not only about performing but covers everything from lighting, sound, stage set design and construction, costume design and creation. There are also opportunities for cast to create their own items! Since 1984, ELT has seen over 1,100 cast members and 1,200 volunteer members of production, crew, committee and behind the scenes helpers.
