David Higgins
Art and design with ecological consciousness. David's work communicates a love of nature and this living earth. His work creates stillness and evokes a positive emotional response. David has worked professionally as an artist for national and international clients, institutions and businesses for over 40 years. He was the first resident artist for the Zoological Board of Victoria, has been commissioned serval times to produce postage stamps by Australia Post. He has worked for advertising agencies, exhibits regularly in Australia, China, Japan and the USA. He has be recognised as a Master Silk Painter, has a textile business, produces sculptures and published 2 books. He has a Masters degree majoring in Ecological art from Monash University, extensive teaching experience. He maintains both a fine and commercial art attitude towards his art production. These days David continues his studio practise at Nirranda, located 300kms south west of Melbourne on the Great Ocean Road nestled in between Port Campbell and Childer's Cove. He also conducts workshops and teaches from this idealic and unique location.
