Christine Lethlean

Christine Lethlean is a practising textile artist and tutor from Western Australia. She grew up on the land, on Njaki Njaki country in the Noongyar Nation, in the Eastern Wheatbelt region. Christine is a practising artist, tutor and mentor and is the regional coordinator for the annual Textile Palette Exhibition held in Clunes Victoria. Whilst her ‘everyday’ textile art is varied and incorporates an array of themes and techniques, in her ‘contemplative work’ Christine studies people and behaviours. With textiles, needles and threads as her creative tools, she explores ways in which to interpret and highlight topics such as social justice, discrimination + inequality, the environment and animal welfare in her art practice.
