The Bruthen Arts & Events Council (the Council) is a volunteer organisation that is well known across the East Gippsland region and extends beyond for presenting high-quality live music, arts and cultural events. Activities held are varied and have included Burlesque shows, live performances and puppet shows for children and families, music and art workshops, markets with live music, art exhibitions and the very popular Medieval Winter Fire Festival. These events have been the backbone of linking community with arts, music and live events and have put Bruthen on the map of leading arts and culture in East Gippsland. The Arts and Events Council continues to make an essential contribution to the recovery of the East Gippsland region, with a particular focus on the Bruthen District. All initiatives align with the social and economic recovery and community wellbeing that East Gippsland Shire Council have prioritised. The organiation prides itself on being a conduit to bring people together to connect, heal and recover while celebrating the outstanding arts and culture of the Region.
