I am an Australian Landscape painter and the Victorian High Country is my muse. Referencing traditional Japanese calligraphy, I combine my fascination of fluid forms with my knowledge and passion of colour. My expression is clean but lyrical and gives notion to a previous career in illustration; I continue to engage with this interesting tension between art and design by abstracting the landscape (neither abstract or representational).  My work is a sophisticated study of colour, juxtaposing vibrant and muted tones within a distinct visual rhythm. Based in Albury on the border of New South Wales and Victoria, I have worked in the creative industries for over 40 years. Originally training as a graphic designer, I have also been a freelanced as an interior design colour consultant and calligrapher. I have always had an eye for detail that suited career in the arts. Since my first solo exhibition in 2015,  I continue to exhibit several times a year and my work has been featured in publications such as Belle, The Design Files and Est Living.  I tutored for many years at the Murray Art Museum Albury, a role I relished as an opportunity to provide the guidance I wished for in my own early career.
