Hope

Meditative, beautiful Australian music by an ARIA-nominated pianist / composer.

Touring as part of the 2024 Touring Services Program

Melbourne pianist/composer Nat Bartsch performs her ARIA-nominated album ’Hope’, in collaboration with local string quartets. Released in 2021 on ABC Classic, Hope is an abbreviation of hopefulness and hopelessness, responding to the Black Summer bushfires and long COVID-19 lockdowns in Melbourne.

It is an immersive and cathartic listening experience, composed for piano, string quartet and ambient electronics. Hope creates the space for us to collectively acknowledge all we endured through 2020/2021, but also be left with a sense of quiet optimism. It is arrestingly beautiful, gentle piano music that has wide appeal to difference audiences.
