Wangaratta Textile Arts Association

The Wangaratta Stitched Up Textile festival is a biennial event showcasing and celebrating contemporary textile art through to traditional sewing and crafts, and provides a forum for sharing innovative textile ideas and techniques. Wangaratta has a rich history of textiles in industry and as a hub for textile crafts.  The program is held during the second week of the July School Holidays, in odd numbered years.  The festival showcases Textile Exhibitions, Workshops, Demonstrations and a high end Craft Market.  The festival coincides with the biennial Wangaratta Art Gallery Contemporary Textile Award and the Rural City of Wangaratta Quilters annual Strictly Quilt exhibition.

During the festical venues in and around Wangaratta host a raft of textile events, including Wangaratta Art Gallery, Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre Foyer, Bainz Gallery - Wangaratta Library, Wangaratta's Visitors Information Centre, St Bernards School Hall - Strictly Quilts, The Holy Trinity Cathedral, Wendy's Webb, Gallery 294 - Corrowa, CWA Hall, Uniting Church Hall - Centre Quilters. Retailers with events and who support us - Wangaratta Woollen Mills, The Mill Shop, My Little Patch, Spotlight, The Factory Outlet, West End Lotto & Wool, Sew Bright Alpine Quilting Bright and 10-4 Gallery Glenrowan.
