Jessica Lesosky

I am a Canadian born dancer, performer, and Dance/Movement therapist.
With dance and movement, I have extensive experience creating specialised dance/movement programs. Creating art with the community. A person-centered practice that holds the space for creation which encompasses the physical, personal, social and cognitive of the whole individual in self and within the group. In 2023 I travelled to Wagga Wagga, supported by the City of Wagga Wagga for their FRESH 2023 inclusive Arts event. I ran 3 all-inclusive dance/movement sessions with community members of all abilities. Please see interview link below from the ABC Riverina. I had the opportunity to work alongside the talented team and Lisel Zinc as a Core Artist for Us and All of This 2023.

My arts practice and work is to support people’s creativity, mobility, connection to each other, communication and social skills. To enhance our capacity to build better relationships both with body and mind, their natural environment, and ultimately improve self-confidence. A value of being seen. The creative connection between body and community.

I also work clinically in community health services across Victoria’s Barwon Southwest working closely with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, NDIS.

I am a founding member of Blink Dance Theatre. An independent project-based company located in Dijlang/Geelong, creating both live performance and screen works, often in site specific spaces. The company values authentic, immersive, participatory, and contemporary movement and theatre practices.
