Dianne Longley – Agave Print Studio

Growing up on a sheep and wheat farm in central west NSW I developed a sense of adventure and an inquisitive nature. This curiosity inspired me to attend art school as soon as I finished high school. The heady days of Whitlam's social and cultural legacy in the late seventies gave me access to a free education for which I am very grateful. I was in heaven; classes in techniques and processes, morning coffee discussions about art, politics and literature, and weekend parties with Patti Smith and Leonard Cohen on the turntable. A broad education in fine arts has underpinned my career in the visual arts. I work across a range of media including printmaking; encaustic and pokerwork on wooden panels; artist books; on-glaze porcelain; and small-scale bronze casting. My artist books and prints have featured in solo and group exhibitions in Australia, South Korea, Japan, India, Sweden, Spain, Hungary, Mexico, the UK and the USA and are in numerous public collections. I am currently a master printmaker at Agave Print Studio, an access printmaking studio I established in picturesque Trentham in 2014. Agave Print Studio offers accommodation, and professional printmaking facilities for intaglio and relief/letterpress printmaking, specialising in photopolymer plate printmaking. I teach a range of printmaking workshops, and Agave Print Studio offers studio access and residencies, printmaking collaborations, and edition printing. Forget city traffic and fall down a rabbit hole into a studio of fabulous facilities, with garden magic, birds and views of kangas.
