We were thrilled to be a part of Showcase Victoria 2024 in May! Bringing together an incredible array of artists and projects, this year’s event featured 48 exceptional productions and 31 contemporary music acts through the Showcase Victoria Music Menu, created in partnership with Music Victoria. Over two days, attendees experienced 13 performance excerpts and 31 pitches, along with special updates from Arts on Tour and Nicholas Clark Management.
Speakers included RAV CEO Jo Porter, Tony Garvey of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, VAPAC Chair Tammy Ryan, Jonathan Yeoman from Theatre Safe Australia and Showcase Victoria’s industry partner Jands.
Day one began with the First Nations Program, curated by First Nations Programming Advisor and RAV Board Member Tom Molyneux, featuring a variety of outstanding projects and organisations. The day also included dedicated networking time and a special roaming performance of “Bufo the Toad” by Snuff Puppets. Day two continued with more excerpts, pitches, networking opportunities, and a presentation on the music menu, facilitated by Dale Packard from Music Victoria.
A huge thank you to the wonderful Showcase Victoria for all of their hard work to put on such an amazing event again, and to Darebin Arts Centre for hosting at their beautiful venue.
