City of Ballarat is seeking casual production superstars at Ballarat’s iconic cultural venues including Her Majesty’s Theatre, Civic Hall and the Mining Exchange.

  • Multiple causal positons available 
  • Band 4 $44.62 – $47.48 including casual loading

About the role

Ballarat is home to some of Australia’s most historically significant cultural venues including Her Majesty’s Theatre, Civic Hall and the Mining Exchange. The technical team provides high quality technical service and customer experience and a safe, welcoming onstage environment for artists, clients, contractors and staff.  No two days are the same.

About you

They are looking for skilled and motivated individuals who have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the live entertainment industry in lighting, audio and av rigging, operating, basic design and theatre craft
  • Experience operating and programming on the EOS and MA lighting consoles and the Allan & Health and Midas style consoles
  • Has CAD drawing experience
  • Can understand DMX and Interpret lighting plans
  • Can work independently if needed
  • Rigging, Working at Heights and EWP tickets
  • WWCC and First Aid Certificates

In this role, you’ll be involved in:

  • installing and deinstalling artworks
  • preparing gallery spaces, including painting and wall treatments
  • handling crates, plinths, and exhibition furniture
  • setting up AV and digital media works
  • packing, unpacking, cleaning, and ensuring artworks are presented to the highest standard

You’ll bring practical experience or knowledge of art or gallery environments, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to working as part of a team. This is a fantastic way to build hands-on skills, expand your industry experience, and play a key role in delivering engaging gallery programs.
