Member Story: Little Gallery Trentham

In the heart of picturesque Trentham is a little gallery with big impact. Since its inception in 2012, the Little Gallery Trentham has proudly featured over 300 regional artists in the pursuit of connecting, sharing and educating locals, tourists, art collectors and each other about local art and fabulous local artists. Part of the Little Gallery’s ethos is that art strengthens community and adds to the cultural identity of the region.

Each year this artist-run space hosts its much anticipated and highly celebrated Winter Fundraising exhibition. The Winter Show is a 3 week showcase, inviting regional artists in various stages of their artistic careers from emerging to highly acclaimed to exhibit together. The fundraising element is a way the Little Gallery can give back to the community that has supported it over the past 14 years with proceeds donated to a local charity group. This year’s recipient is Trentham Health supporting the Treehouse programme helping people in the community with dementia. The 2025 Winter Show opens on Friday the 11th of July at 5.30pm in Trentham and will run for 3 consecutive weeks.

Last year Regional Arts Victoria was incredibly excited to welcome Little Gallery Trentham as a new member. When asked why the Little Gallery made the decision to join RAV, Artist in Residence, Kim Haughie responded that the resident artists were attracted to RAV’s insurance offering for creative organisations, as well as RAV’s funding opportunities and support for individuals and creative organisations.  We are so grateful to have the Little Gallery in the fold and look forward to meeting with the gallery’s resident artists.  As Kim says, being a member of RAV provides opportunities for ‘making connections through art and working together to strengthen our creative community’.

The Little Gallery is open 10-4 Thursday to Monday and most public holidays, 34B High Street, Trentham.
