Smt. Christina Prakanthan hails from Colombo, Srilanka. She started learning Bharathanatyam at the age of 3. She had her initial training under Smt. Suryakala Chandrika Jeevaananthan under whom she completed her Arangetram in 2002 in Colombo. She conferred the title ‘Natya Vishaaradha’ at the age of 13 under Bhathkande Sangeeth Vidhyapeet , New Delhi. 

For the past many years she is under the mentorship and tutelage of Kalaimaamani Dr. Lakshmi Ramaswamy, Chennai. She completed her Masters degree in Bharathanatyam at the University of Madras. She is pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Yoga, meditation and lifestyle Medicine in Australia. She is undergoing training in Vilasini Natyam from Padmabhushan Swapna Sundari Founder of Vilasini Natyam. 

Christina was honoured with the award ' Artist of the year' in year 2016 by the Senior Citizens Benevolence Society of Victoria. She has served as a Board member of the Intercultural Advisory Committee of Melton. Christina is a Community Leader of the Melton City Council. She was the inaugural president for BAAVA - a Bharathanatyam examination board based in Victoria.

Christina has been successfully training students under her Institution Natyatharu School of Dance for the past 10 years.
