RAV has received funding through the Strategic Partnerships Grants program to deliver three collaborative projects that will strengthen capability, create new opportunities for artists and support the long-term sustainability of regional creative communities.
The projects address systemic inequality through targeted, time-bound initiatives that focus on workforce development, intergenerational leadership and career pathways for emerging artists.
Mapping capability development across regional Victoria
RAV will undertake statewide research to map capability development opportunities available to creatives across regional Victoria. Working with local networks and peer organisations, the project will identify existing training and professional development opportunities while exploring where further investment is needed.
The resulting report will illustrate how collaborative investment can help regional creatives build skills in areas including producing and presenting local and touring work, disaster preparedness and financial literacy. Designed to complement existing workforce development initiatives, the research framework will also be replicable for future use.
Supporting the next generation of creative leaders in South West Victoria
In southwest Victoria, RAV will facilitate an intergenerational exchange initiative that places young people at the centre of creative activations in their own communities. By creating meaningful opportunities for youth participation and leadership, the project aims to support a more confident, connected and empowered generation of creatives, build stronger volunteer succession and ensure regional arts organisations continue to thrive.
Creating pathways for emerging artists in Gippsland
In Gippsland, RAV will identify and support emerging artists to develop new work, strengthening their practice and preparing them to participate in future professional opportunities, including initiatives such as Gippsland Contemporary.
