Impact Story: RAV partners with ACE Radio

Regional Arts Victoria is thrilled to announce ACE Radio as a new media partner!

Owned by Rowly and Judy Paterson, the company has grown over the years to include 21 radio stations, The Weekly Advertiser newspaper and their Digital Creative Agency, ACE Digital. Today the group employs over 200 people across Australia.

ACE Radio broadcasts through 21 stations across the East Coast of Australia. Each have a strong commitment to local and national news and sport and are heavily involved in supporting their respective communities.

Through this partnership, RAV can promote arts and cultural initiatives throughout regional Victoria to a much wider audience. The ACE Radio Markets have a combined population of 11,000,000+, that’s over four million listeners across Victoria and Southern NSW!

The partnership encompasses a radio advertising package to promote RAV activities such as our Touring shows and events, the RAV Membership program plus Member events and activities across the following ACE Radio markets:

  • Gippsland The Gippsland market is unique in Australia as it has five major population centres spread over a large geographic area. The market includes the important industrial region of the Latrobe Valley, which generates over 85% of Victoria’s power.
  • Warrnambool The 3YB and Coast FM service area stretches across the coastal plain high on Mount Warrnambool to Warrnambool and the Great South Coast of Victoria. 3YB FM has been broadcasting to Warrnambool and the Great South Coast for over 75 years.
  • Colac Based in Colac, 3CS and MIXX FM cover the heart of Southwestern Victoria, and the world-famous Great Ocean Road. The city of Colac is located 75 kilometres west of Geelong. The surf coast tourist area attracts in excess of 1.1 million visitors annually.
  • Hamilton Based in Hamilton, our two stations cover Western Victoria. MIXX FM launched over 8 years ago in Portland, which has helped us to gain the majority share of FM listeners from our area. 3HA have also launched their FM frequency, 92.9 3HA FM in Portland.
  • Horsham Horsham is the major commerce centre for the Wimmera/Mallee region. Over a million tourists visit the area each year to see Halls Gap and the majestic Grampians National Park. The region is extremely popular with fishing, boating, swimming and water enthusiasts.
  • Swan Hill 3SH and MIXX FM cover the eastern edge of the Mallee area in the northwest of Victoria. Located on the Murray River, Swan Hill is a picturesque tourist destination with a strong farming district. Tourism in the region is a $55 million industry with over 235,000 visitors annually.
  • Wangaratta Based in Wangaratta, 3NE and EDGE FM Servicing a region stretching from Southern NSW to Northeast Victoria, 1566 3NE and 102.1 Edge FM can cater for a diverse and wide-ranging demographic. Wangaratta is a cathedral city in the northeast of Victoria, Australia, approximately 250 km from Melbourne along the Hume Highway.
  • Albury/Wodonga Albury is the major retail, commercial, administrative and cultural centre for the greater Albury Wodonga region. The Albury Wodonga economy is valued at approximately $5.29billion (January 2011), and is dominated by the manufacturing, construction, retail, health and business & property services sectors.
