These mentorships are to support emerging/early career, visual or multimedia artists. Each mentee will receive funding to work on concepts and specifications for a new project proposal including: creative rationale, identification of materials, technical viability/assessment, site identification, timeline, partners, context design and/or other needs the artist identifies as specific to their idea. Each artist will be matched with an appropriate mentor or advisor.
This opportunity is not for production or realisation. It is aimed at supporting the detailed planning required for place-based works and facilitating the steps required before funding applications, partnership discussions and commission proposals.
Funding is $5,000 for the mentee’s time plus $500 for research or development materials.

This opportunity is a structured development runway giving emerging artists with ideas for outdoor or other placemaking projects. Up to six emerging creatives will be selected through an expression of interest process.
Your application needs to show evidence of your idea. The process is simple: tell us about you and your idea in words, you do not need to create a polished proposal, that that is developed during the program.
Your application must be for a high-quality arts project that benefits Gippsland audiences and/or communities.

Eligible applicants for the Mentorships do not have to speak advisor before applying, though they are welcome to.
Our advisors are located across the state. You are able to discuss your project by making a booking.
