Yes, And…
A storytelling workshop that reveals what students already know
Storytelling Workshops
By Miles Munn
Creative experience available on demand as part of the 2027 Creative Learning Program
The Arts – Drama | English | Critical & Creative Thinking | Personal and Social Capability.
In this workshop students use constraint-based games, surrealist exercises and oral storytelling traditions drawn from improv and street performance to build genuine group creativity and spontaneity. Students discover their own narrative instincts without being taught what a story is.
This is a storytelling workshop built around a simple premise: every student in the room is already a storyteller with a unique voice and a story to tell. The session follows a four-stage arc drawn from street performance practice. The group entry activity captures attention without demanding it. We build group cohesion through brain-teasing games. We then escalate gradually to take some creative risks. The games get stranger, the asks get bigger, and ownership transfers from the facilitator to the group. The ending closes the circle without over-explaining what just happened.
“A really engaging and well-structured workshop. The students were laughing and having fun, but they were also thinking deeply about storytelling, character and perspective. We will have Miles back.” – Teacher
“The students loved the energy and freedom the workshop gave them. They were really encouraged to build on each other’s ideas, and it was great to see how quickly one of our usually quite reluctant students became involved.” – Teacher
