If they're playing cricket, who's making the sandwiches?
If they’re playing cricket, who is making the sandwiches?
Written by Dr Christine Davey, presented by award-winning regional, female and disability-led theatre company – Skin of our Teeth Productions – this joyous, musical explores the first women’s cricket match in Australia and what it means for all of us – the glory, surprise and the unexpected fall out!
Bendigo 1874 – an all women’s cricket match takes place – lots of money raised for charity, the women praised for their efforts and then all hell breaks loose as the press decides these women should know their place!
A sharp, funny, deeply human new work, THE DEPLORABLES turns the spotlight onto the unexpected power of women who decide enough is enough.
Blending physical theatre, striking choral movement and new Australian music, this is a tale of extraordinary women doing extraordinary things and the very ordinary men who tried to stop them.
