Reimagining the Barham
A community arts exhibition bringing the Barham River centre stage
Developed and facilitated by Southern Otway Landcare Network (SOLN), and curated by RAV Member Sally Kuylaars Forrester, this community arts exhibition brings the Barham River centre stage, highlighting its central role in our community and region.
Over 350 community members have responded to the call to imagine the Barham’s future, and share perspectives and diverse stories of connection to our life-giving waterway.
With over 80 exhibits, from documentary film to musical composition, ceramics to textiles, drawing to photography, sculpture and mixed media installations, this exhibition really has something to interest everyone.
And don’t keep the kids at home! With the dedicated River Reading Nook, the Nibbled Leaf Café, artwork from local children and students, and a Kids’ Passport to help younger children reflect on what they see this, is definitely a whole family experience!
Supported by 25 community organisations and groups, Reimagining the Barham draws together people inspired by the river and invested in its future. The exhibition runs for six weeks, with a special opening night on Sunday 26 April from 3-6pm. It’s sure to be a special event so be sure not to miss it!
