Mr Snotbottom vs The Zombie Boogers: The Science of Snot

Shrink down and explore the gnarly nasal passage right up close!

Join Mr Snotbottom for a hilarious, slimy sci-fi adventure where science gets seriously silly!
Audiences dive into the gooey world of snot, giggle through gross-tastic gags, and get hands-on with ewwy, gooey experiments.

Step aboard SAMANTHA — the talking science lab (short for Snot And Mucus And Nasal Transportational Hunting Apparatus) — and shrink down to explore the nasal passage from the inside!
On this snot-filled journey, audiences discover fascinating facts about phlegm, learn about the nose’s anatomy, the immune system, and why hygiene matters — all while becoming heroes of the story.

They’ll tame wild nose hairs, battle boogers with decongestant darts, and escape monstrous histamines using anti-allergens. Along the way, they’ll answer questions like:

  • What is mucus made of?
  • How fast is a sneeze?
  • How do we stop spreading germs?
  • And most importantly… what happens when you eat your boogers?

Learning through interaction is key.
Whether steering the ship through the human body or dancing to discover which muscles make us sneeze, audiences leave with a new appreciation for their amazing bodies and how to care for them.

Imaginative play comes alive as audiences handle larger-than-life props and meet slimy, snotty puppets that slither right into the crowd!

When a slimy overload threatens to cover the planet in mucus, students jump into action. As part of the Snot Squad, they work together to defeat the nasal nasties and save the day — building teamwork and social skills along the way.

Where imagination becomes reality!

Workshop Description: Why do the stories we tell, the characters we invent and the worlds we imagine feel so real?

Welcome to the Unlimited Worlds Workshop, where participants discover there is no limit to the worlds we can create using their own bodies, voices and imaginations to recreate exciting environments, embody characters and tell dramatic stories.

Audiences deepen their knowledge of the human body and the world around them while being introduced to professional podcast recording equipment to explore how performers change their voices to create emotion, dramatic tension and mimic environments.

By expanding the potential for imaginative thinking, participants then discover how this also expands our potential for problem-solving, cooperation and invention.
