Over pizza, cold soft drinks, teas and coffee, this hour of power invites practicing creatives and organisations to swap slices of their skills and resources, sparking new collaborations and strengthening local networks.

It celebrates creativity as currency: bartering local knowledge, materials, and professional skills to help creatives get what they need in exchange for what they can offer. 

By connecting needs with offers — from mentoring and feedback to space, equipment, or collaboration — the Creative Exchange activates the abundance of talent already within our region, reducing reliance on funding alone to move creative goals forward.

Thanks to support from the Fletcher Jones Family Foundations, this is an add-on opportunity following the Neil Porter Legacy Creative Arts Industry Day. Once the students have departed, exhibitors are invited to stay on for this lively session joined by other locals. It’s a chance to connect and cook up creative partnerships — with a side of pizza and plenty of inspiration.
