Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Regional Arts Victoria has reached its $20,000 AusArt Day fundraising target, helping make a new regional arts commission possible.
What can happen when people come together to support regional art? Something pretty special.
On AusArt Day, Thursday 22 October, RAV set out to raise $20,000 to commission a new artwork by a regional Victorian artist, created with and for a local community.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, and the support of our matched funding partners, we reached our $20,000 target!
We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, shared our campaign or helped spread the word. Every contribution helped us get across the line, and this achievement is a wonderful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together to champion regional creativity.
Making regional art happen
Funds raised through the campaign will support a new commission through our Opportunities for Small Halls program, bringing a regional artist and a local community together to create an original work inspired by the place they call home.
The commission will provide an opportunity for an artist to develop new work in collaboration with a community, celebrating local stories, strengthening connections and creating a shared creative experience.
It’s about more than making a new artwork. It’s about supporting regional artists to do what they do best, creating opportunities for communities to connect through creativity, and ensuring regional stories have the chance to be told.
Thank you for your support
AusArt Day is a chance to celebrate the value of Australian art and the people who make it possible. This year, our supporters showed just how much can be achieved when people believe in the power of regional arts.
To everyone who donated, shared our campaign or encouraged others to get involved — thank you. Your generosity will help bring a new creative project to life, and we look forward to sharing more as the commission takes shape.
Thank you for helping make regional art happen.
