Eight Project Grants have been awarded a total of $182,454 in funding through the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, delivered in Victoria by Regional Arts Victoria.
Australian Government Minister for the Arts, the Hon Tony Burke said,
“Where you live, shouldn’t dictate your level of involvement within Australia’s art sector. This funding will create over 850 jobs for regional artists and arts workers across Australia.
From Mullumbimby, to Emerald, Warrnambool and Rapid Creek, audiences will get to experience some incredible projects across a range of different mediums.
We know there’s a story for every place and a place for every story and this funding only further supports that.”
Director, Partnerships and Programming at Regional Arts Victoria, Susie Lyons thanked everyone who applied in this round and acknowledged the importance of fund in supporting the creative sector in Victoria.
“Regional Arts Victoria is proud to continue working with the Australian Government and Regional Arts Australia to deliver the Regional Arts Fund in our state. This support is crucial for regional artists and organisations and can be transformative for the successful applicants and others involved in funded projects, giving them scope to focus on new initiatives and embedding creativity in their communities.
We applaud the high calibre of applicants in this round and thank the independent assessment panel members who commit their time and expertise to supporting these outcomes. We look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition.”
