Welcome to three new RAV Board Members

The Board of Regional Arts Victoria has welcomed new Board members at the 2025 Annual General Meeting held on 1 May 2025.

We thank outgoing Board Member, Karla Conway and welcome the following three Board Members:

Gareth Hart

Gareth Hart works across creative leadership, program design, strategic planning, community engagement, and creative recovery. They have held leadership roles at Burrinja Cultural Centre (CEO), Arts Mildura (Executive Director) and hillsceneLIVE (Festival Director), and is an alumni of Creative Australia’s leadership program. Their practice is underpinned by deeply held values of humanity and humanness.
Hart’s creative practice spans 25 years, ranging from the commission of large scale dance works, intimate experiences, public art interventions and screen-based dance. They hold a Masters of Choreography from the VCAM / University of Melbourne, where their thesis explored the intersections between dance, psycho-geographic experience, and embodied histories.

Liz Wilson

Liz Wilson has over 25 years’ experience in arts management in professional and community/volunteer organisations. She has worked for festivals, government, arts funders and creators in Australia and the UK. In 2021 she moved to Castlemaine from Sydney where her work included Membership Manager at the Australian Music Centre and various projects with Musica Viva. She was Patrons Manager for the Castlemaine State Festival until 2024.

Liz plays cello with, and is on the management committee of, the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra and is President of Resonance String Orchestra, based in Castlemaine and Woodend. Liz gained a Masters of Communication Management at UTS and attended the AICD Governance Foundations course for NFP Directors in 2024.

Janet Bromley

Janet Bromley is a Yorta Yorta artist and holds a Master of Visual Art. Janet’s practice uses tradition methods of gathering and weaving and make with recycled clothing, plastic waste, found objects and bush materials weaving and sculptures, storytelling in small works and large installations, and recycled material workshops for children and adults.

Janet joined the City of Greater Bendigo as the First Nations Arts Officer 2021 and established a First Nations Art Gallery in collaboration with the City.  She was offered an art residency at La Trobe Art Institute Bendigo in the Making Good – a Collation for Change project, was a recipient of the Excellence in any Media, Koorie Heritage Trust 2018 and recently exhibited and ran workshops as part of the exhibition Bound at MAMA Murray Art Museum Albury.  She has organise the Knuldoorong exhibition during NAIDOC week in Bendigo, and is a member of NGKM Ngardang Girri Kalat Mimini Art Collective she has participated as an artist in Iuk a collaboration with NGKM, Ernst & Young and Koskela and was a participant and coordinator of Creative Resilience: First Nations Women Monument installed at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre.
