What is Wake Up! Music???

WAKE UP! Music is a regional program and initiative aimed at growing and nurturing music culture in smaller towns. Started in Echuca Moama at the start of 2013, the local area was full of many talented people – however services and resources aiding the local music scene were few and diminishing.

The area has some great music festivals in the Riverboats Festival & the Winter Blues Festival, however the scene was still struggling to ignite consistently.

Local music stores and instrument suppliers closed, few night venues were considering local live music talent, or even live music at all. Youth event programs had disappeared and something needed to be done to help kick the scene into gear.

Through a lot of hard work and community help from all facets, our little town now has more local music representatives than ever – as well as many visiting live music performers.  WAKE UP! Music is only part of the story, but plays a crucial role in helping performers emerge from the bedroom into the live music workforce with events, skills workshops, mentors, services and support.

The journey continues for WAKE UP! Music as it grows and evolves. Anyone passionate about our cause is welcome to get involved and help the momentum!
