Artist's Statement:
My creative interests are influenced by the fact that I moved from New York, where I was embedded professionally in a lively dance community, to a small village in remote Australia, where there is little dance in daily culture. I have a unique perspective as an artist, who has lived and worked in both metropolitan centres as well as regional Australia. I have insights on the strengths, weaknesses and singular offerings of those different places, as well as how the needs and concerns of people in those environments are different from each other. Where we dance matters and changes the art being made, our relationships to each other and our relationship to our experience.
