Serana's creative work has become intimately linked to the fabric of her hometown, Dookie while showcased and embraced by regional and city galleries and arts festivals.
Serana’s photography has received widespread recognition: on ABC 7:30 Victoria presented on 03.10.14; inclusion in the prestigious International Head On Photo Festival in Sydney on three occasions; a finalist in some of the most important contemporary photography prizes both within Australia and Internationally; invitation to be the inaugural local artist to be spotlighted at Shepparton Art Museum in 2015; was a key creative feature in the State Government funded Regional Arts Victoria Small Towns Transformation program ‘Dookie Earthed’; and one of the selected artists for the Regional Arts Victoria funded ‘Shepp Train Project’ Artist in Residency on the Shepparton - Melbourne train service as a part of the Shepparton Festival 2016.
Serana’s photographic career and life have been unorthodox and unique, deeply rooted in remoteness, adventure and a connection to creative thinking, giving input into the straight forward but deeply captivating images she creates.
