I am a Celtic artist & calligrapher. My work is mixed media including watercolour gouache, inks, acrylics and gilding. My paintings are expressions of identity in the interplay of Celtic patterns and Australian wildlife, being a woman born in Australia of Celtic heritage. Environmental sustainability is an important narrative in my work. Celtic art speaks of the continuous cycle of life in the unbroken pathways in Celtic knots and connected spirals flowing one into another. Calligraphy helps me explore these narratives further, inviting the viewer deeper into ideas of the past and how they are relevant for us today.
Most of my commission work is in calligraphy accompanied by suitable illumination, gilding, painting, drawing and decorative artwork.
