Join your host Megan J Riedl at TBH Studio for community, creativity, and the power of words at the closing celebration of the WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY group exhibition.

Hosted by award-winning spoken word artist Megan J Riedl. Showcasing her expert wordsmithery, Megan will deliver a set of spoken word poems, delivered in her powerful and compelling style. Megan’s poetry explores themes of identity, belonging, truth and power, often highlighting issues of social justice. Her performance will also include the unveiling of new spoken word work based on the I KNOW WHAT YOU DID THIS SUMMER community writing project that will run concurrently with WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY exhibition.

For the month of February, the WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY group exhibition at TBH Studio has given artists a platform to express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions through the powerful medium of text – now it’s the writers turn! With 15 x 5-minute open-mic spots up for grabs, you’re invited to share original or favourite poems, short stories or songs to share on the mic at TBH Studio!

Open-mic hopefuls are also welcome to join Megan at a workshop on 21st February to hone their poems.

A professional wordsmith, prolific creative, super solo mum and Autistic woman, Megan J Riedl is a consummate host of spoken word events. Her gentle hype for newbie poets, reverence for old hands and passion for all things spoken word will impart a love of words with the crowd. She is an award-winning spoken word poet and feels out loud in a range of mediums including collage, zines, theatre, and podcasting. Combining the personal and political, Megan leads by example in standing up, showing up and speaking up, sharing the messy, human experiences that often go unspoken.
