‘Weaving Stories’ exhibition

Visit the Weaverbirds’ latest exhibition at Anglesea Art Space and discover a collection of works that weave together the makers’ stories.

The Weaverbirds meet around Joy Beeby’s kitchen table each Monday morning. As they weave with their hands, conversations flow, moving between their creative practice and reflections on family, community and the wider world.

Each finished piece carries its own story.

These stories of weaving explore finding, collecting, sharing and recycling materials; preparing materials matching materials with ideas; weaving techniques and processes; choices around colour, shape, size and grouping; and working together, where both weaver and materials shape final artworks.

Exhibiting artists include:
Joy Beeby
Roe Clapham
Anne Davies
Kathy Harry
Sam Harry
Jane Honman
Cathie Mitchell
Julie Skouden
Denise Stephens
TeĀhua

A limited-edition ‘Weaving Stories’ notebook has been created to celebrate the exhibition and will be available to purchase alongside the artworks.

Exhibition dates:
Thursday 2 April to Sunday 19 April (including public holidays).
