RAV in Residence: East Gippsland Creative Summit
Join us in Bairnsdale for RAV in Residence.
The East Gippsland Creative Summit, delivered by East Gippsland Shire and supported by RAV, brings artists, makers, performers and creative leaders together with a shared focus. Alongside local showcases, performances and dedicated networking moments, the summit will include breakout forums on funding, succession planning and the state of creativity from a statewide perspective, as well as offering a limited number of one-on-one sessions facilitated by the RAV team. These sessions are open to all artists and creatives with an idea, project or challenge they’d like to discuss.
Attendees will also have the chance to take home a $1,000 grant from the Culture and Creativity team, with dedicated RAV mentoring sessions and one-on-one consultations available to help transform your early concept into a compelling, ready-to-deliver project.

About the speakers
Lyndel Moore, RAV Regional Manager, Gippsland
Lyndel’s career in creative and cultural pursuits has taken her around the world. While working for many years in brand communication and marketing industries, her focus has always been on nurturing creative people and creative pursuits. She returned to regional Victoria in 2014 after many years of travelling for work and pleasure and is most comfortable collaborating with regional communities and their creative endeavours.
Most recently, she has focused on the cultural recovery and tourism and economy aspects of the Gippsland region working with agencies focused on similar outcomes.
Jo Porter, RAV Chief Executive Officer
A theatre producer and consultant in not-for-profit and commercial theatre, Jo was the Co-Producer of Victoria’s inaugural Regional Centre for Culture (2018) and has worked with independent artists as a producer and in mentorship roles. Other roles in Australia, UK and USA have included: CEO of the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre, Executive Producer of Malthouse Theatre, General Manager of a range of commercial theatre productions and head of creative development at Richard Frankel Productions in New York and Head of Business Development at Really Useful Group in London. A former Chair of Back to Back Theatre, Jo is the current Chair of Chamber Made.
Stu Spiers, Silver Lining Strategy
Stu Speirs is the Founder and Director of Silver Lining Strategy, a consultancy specializing in major event strategy, planning, and evaluation. Stu’s work focuses on partnering with tourism authorities, event owners, and councils to create events that enhance community identity and drive visitation.
With over a decade of experience in developing some of Australia’s best-known events, Stu’s expertise lies in event concept creation, business planning, impact evaluation, and community consultation. His approach emphasizes empathy, honesty, collaboration, and legacy, ensuring long-term success and community buy-in.
