Loop Creative Social – 5 Things I’ve Learnt About… Collaboration
Presented in partnership with Moyne Shire Council and Fletcher Jones Family Foundations
Creatives, changemakers and community collaborators are invited to an inspiring evening of connection, celebration and wisdom-sharing at the LOOP Creative Social this March!
This informal mixer is a chance to meet fellow creatives, hear from locals behind successful collaborative projects, and pick up real-world tips on finding and working with partners. You’ll hear industry insights from visiting experts, stories from across the Great Ocean Road region and beyond, and plenty of inspiration for turning your own creative ideas into action.
We’re shining a light on southwest creatives and unpacking what made their collaborations work. Expect practical insights into brokering partnerships, negotiating mutual benefits, working with the visitor economy and more.
Why join us?
- Hear stories from successful collaborative projects and the people behind them.
- Gain bite-sized advice on finding collaborators, building partnerships and working across sectors.
- Enjoy live music by local musicians.
- Be in the running to win a bespoke support package, including one-to-one mentoring and $1,000 to help you develop a collaborative creative idea into an impactful project.
- Meet people who can support your ideas – from industry experts and Council staff to local organisations, businesses, potential partners and funders.
- Enjoy free local catering and chilled soft drinks, with a bar open for additional refreshments.
Thanks to the generous support of Fletcher Jones Family Foundations, this event is a celebration of our region’s creative talent and a platform for sharing knowledge, building networks and imagining what’s possible when we back local ideas.
Whether you’re an artist, creative worker, producer, community volunteer, trustee, grant-maker, school representative or someone passionate about the arts, this is your chance to gather, share stories and strengthen the southwest’s creative ecosystem.
Where: The Koroit Stables, 124 High Street, Koroit, VIC – Eastern Maar / Gunditjmara Country – see Map.
Tickets: Register via Humanitix using the Register button or contact us for support registering.
This event is delivered by Regional Arts Victoria and Moyne Shire Council as part of the South West Creative Industries Strategy, a partnership initiative to support the creative industries across Warrnambool, Moyne, Corangamite, Glenelg and Southern Grampians. It is one of many opportunities led by Strategy partners to connect communities to learning, skills and each other – visit @RAVsouthwest on Facebook to see what’s on.
If you were given $1000 and 1:1 expert help, what local creative collaboration would you pursue? What would it’s impact be on the southwest? Share your idea when registering – ideas will be shortlisted with a winner selected on the night!
We’re looking for collaborative ideas that align with the pillars in the South West Creative Industries Strategy – First Peoples, Creative Communities, Professional and Business Development, and Young People and Families.
Outline your collaborative initiative and it’s intended outcomes in 100 words or less. Think about the problem it solves, who will benefit and how.
The winner will be granted $1,000 thanks to Fletcher Jones Family Foundations, and offered a series of mentoring sessions and 1:1 consultations to help you turn your initial concept into an impactful project. Tap into expert advice, contacts and helpful networks, be connected to useful resources and be guided on strategies to fund your idea, develop partnerships and engage audiences – all specific to you and your idea.
The event is designed to:
- Build cross-sector connections between creatives, businesses, funders, advocates, and supportive organisations
- Strengthen peer-to-peer networks and spark collaboration and new partnerships
- Celebrate & raise awareness of diverse regional creatives & their projects
- Build community capacity by sharing real-world learnings, expert advice and actionable tips relating to collaboration
- Provide opportunities to activate spaces and to pay, support and promote local creatives and small businesses
- Connect locals with mentoring and funding for a strategic initiative
- Raise awareness of the work being done to support creative industries, and who can help!
This aligns with the goals of the South West Creative Industries Strategy and Moyne Shire’s Arts & Culture Strategy. Contact us if you’re interested in helping us with this work!
