RAV Member Creative Connections: Presenting Live Music with Lyrebird Arts Council
Join Lyrebird Arts Collective as they share their experiences of bringing live music from around the world to a small community hall in South Gippsland
Are you a presenter bringing live music to your community? Are you a community member interested in creating opportunities for more live music in and around your region. This session is for you!
We’ve invited RAV Members Lyrebird Arts Council, a group of like-minded friends, family and complete strangers who banded together to create a volunteer organisation who present the best and most diverse live music possible to their community in South Gippsland. They will share how they manage to book such incredible artists from Australia and around the world, what they see as their strengths as well as opportunities being pursued to further improve presentation of their shows.
Some of the artists Lyrebird have presented so far include: The Waifs, Liz Stringer, Sarah Blasko, Ganavya (India/USA), Bleak Squad, Stiff Gins, Dobet Gnahoré (Côte d’Ivoire), Ruth Moody (Canada), Ben Ottewell & Ian Ball (UK), Emma Donovan, Grace Cummings, Calexico (USA), Lisa O’Neill (Ireland), Amyl & The Sniffers, Xylouris White, Willie Watson (USA), The Milk Carton Kids (USA), The Necks, Garifuna Collective (Belize) and Sierra Ferrell (USA).
Creative Connections provide Members with the opportunity to get together online and chat about a specific topic. Held monthly, RAV staff and a guest speaker will share stories and hear from Members about their experiences.
