Slava & Leonard Grigoryan, regarded as Australia’s finest classical guitar duo perform an eclectic repertoire from Latin to jazz through to classical and contemporary music.
Fuelling this diversity is the brothers’ joy of improvisation, which, when combined with their technical virtuosity creates a new dimension to their critically acclaimed performances world-wide.
The program for this concert includes classical and traditional pieces as well as tracks from their latest release ‘Distance’ (Which Way Music) featuring originals, commissions and works by Australian and international composers including Nigel Westlake, Ralph Towner, Wolfgang Muthspiel, their father Edward Grigoryan, William Lovelady and more.
It is this capacity to step outside the norm whilst never compromising their musical integrity, nor the integrity of the music, which has earned them a large and devoted following.
“….guitar playing of uncommon originality and authority. Musicality, expressivity and daring….”
