Illuminated by Fire

Illuminated by Fire

On Saturday 30 October 2010, Riverside Park in Swan Hill lit up with a spectacular performance that explored our complex relationship with fire. Dancer/choreographer Jacob Boehme and Margie Mackay (theatre maker and pyrotechnician) created a fiery crosscultural performance that investigates the ties between local Indigenous and Indian communities.

This project was created in partnership with Regional Arts Victoria, Swan Hill Aboriginal Health Service and Swan Hill Neighbourhood House, and was part of the 3rd annual Go North Arts Festival – a community festival that celebrates the exciting and diverse range of arts and culture in the Swan Hill region (22-31 October 2010).
