Showcase Victoria
Showcase Victoria is the annual event bringing Producers and Presenters together to build relationships and foster discussion about touring performing arts throughout Victoria. Producers are invited to ‘pitch’ their work to Presenters, who in turn build their annual programs around the productions showcased.
The event, proudly presented by the Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centre (VAPAC) and Regional Arts Victoria, allows presenters from all over Victoria to gather, discuss and sample the latest works in a wide variety of performing arts genres with a view to buying into future tours.
Showcase Victoria gives producers and artists with a production ready to tour or currently in development a fabulous opportunity to promote their work, with an aim to expanding audiences and increasing their profile through touring.
Before applying to Showcase please take the time to read the tour funding selection criteria on the Arts Victoria website.
While interstate Producers are welcome to apply for Showcase, Victorian based Producers will be given preference. The main reason for this is because Arts Victoria funding is set up to support only local companies. Companies based outside of Victoria who need tour funding support are best served via the Long Paddock national touring forum. If you are interested in traveling from interstate to present your show, please contact the RAV team to discuss.

GAL2 is managed directly by Arts Victoria and is open to performing arts venues and volunteer presenters for itinerised touring shows.

These include: Long Paddock – a national touring forum designed to facilitate interstate touring; direct arrangements with regional and metropolitan venues many of whom are represented by VAPAC (within Victoria) and APACA (in other states); and working with other touring models such as Shows on the Go, Critical Stages, Performing Lines and 6PAC.
There are also other great organisations dedicated to assisting you fulfil your creative ambitions. These include: Theatre Network Victoria - an umbrella association for producers; Performing Arts Touring Alliance (PATA) - a national touring advisory body; and Auspicious Arts - a Victorian based auspice body who can help you with all things legal and financial.
However you decide to pursue the possibilities we do recommend you take some time to talk to colleagues and contacts, including RAV staff, to gather a good range of advice.
