The Melbourne Chamber Orchestra will delight regional audiences with this beautifully programmed concert.
JS Bach – Brandenburg concerto no. 3
CPE Bach – Flute concerto in D minor H 425
Dvorak – Quintet in G op 77 (arr strings)
Dvorak's mellifluous quintet is tailor-made for the weightier sonorities of a string orchestra and this new arrangement gives full rein to the MCO strings at thier richest and most lush.
Complementing father Bach's third Brandenburg concerto is son Carl Philipp Emanuel's Sturm und Drang-filled concerto, here to be given brilliant expression by rising star flute-player Taryn Richards.
