Regional Arts Victoria welcomed its newest board member, Susie Lyons, at last Saturday’s Members’ Celebration and Annual General Meeting. Susie was elected onto the Regional Arts Victoria board from the South-West Region.

“I’m thrilled to join the Regional Arts Victoria Board,” said Susie Lyons. “I came away from Saturday’s AGM totally inspired and excited to be given the opportunity to contribute to such an outstanding organisation.”

Susie is a festivals and events director and producer, and Acting Chair of Julia Street Creative Space, Portland. She is creator and former director of the Upwelling Festival in Portland. Susie has over 20 years’ experience working nationally and internationally on festivals, events, concert tours and arts project management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish (Honours) and Mandarin Chinese, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Communication.

“The Regional Arts Victoria Board is delighted to have someone of Susie’s passions and expertise elected onto the board,” said Bruce Esplin AM, Chair. “Susie’s solid record of creative achievement makes her well placed to join us in inspiring the arts across the state.”

At this year’s AGM, Regional Arts Victoria also farewelled two long-serving board members: Ross Lake, who had also served as Treasurer, and Rob Robson. Both Ross and Rob had reached their maximum tenure of nine years. The board, along with the Regional Arts Victoria community, recognised their contributions and celebrated their achievements at our 24 May event.
