Regional Arts Victoria announces Suzi Cordell as Education & Families Manager

Farewelling Emily Atkins after five impactful years with the organisation, Regional Arts Victoria is delighted to announce Suzi Cordell as Education & Families Manager.

“It’s a pleasure to have someone of Suzi’s solid arts expertise in the Education & Families Manager role,” said Esther Anatolitis, Director, Regional Arts Victoria. “Suzi has the exciting challenge of stimulating young minds as she leads a dynamic program of regional schools-based experiences as well as our Creative Leadership Program. These are vital for a lifetime of creativity.”

Suzi Cordell has a passion for providing high quality arts experiences and inspiring young people across the regions. She has a broad background working in the arts, from theatre and festivals to arts in education. She has worked with many theatre and arts companies, including Ilbijerri Theatre, The Old Van Theatre, Multicultural Arts Victoria, Melbourne Workers Theatre, and Chamber Made Opera. Suzi has also worked with a broad range of schools and communities across Victoria and the Northern Territory.

Regional Arts Victoria inspires art across the state. Through creative facilitation, touring, education, specialised resources, artistic projects and advocacy, we develop and sustain creative communities and artistic practice all over Victoria. Regional Arts Victoria is an independent, not-for-profit, membership-based organisation working in long-term partnerships with every level of government, fostering contemporary and innovative regional cultural practice across five decades.

Suzi Cordell had been acting in the Education & Families Manager role while Emily Atkins was on parental leave. Following an internal process, Suzi has been appointed to the role of Manager.

Having worked with Regional Arts Victoria since 2009, Emily Atkins takes up the role of Director, Drama Victoria, as of February 2014.

“I’m thrilled that Emily’s next role is a leadership role in the area she’s most passionate about. We look forward to a closer relationship with Drama Victoria, and we all wish Emily the very best for the next stage in her career,” said Esther.
