Warning: Small Parts on tour!

The Regional Arts Victoria Education and Families team are thrilled to be combining forces with HotHouse Theatre to tour Warning: Small Parts.

Starring actors Amos Wilksch (as Syms) and Molly Burnett (as everything else!), the show uses a mix of multimedia, puppetry, action, audience participation and song to follow Syms Convington's great adventure spurred by his love of collecting.

Syms leaves his unhappy life in an English butcher shop, to travel the world with Charles Darwin on the HMS Beagle in the hopes of collecting even more new things! This micro-magical tale has bugs, a smooth talking armadillo, a lazy iguana, a scary squid, a mermaid, green sausages, some ridiculous sailors, and a mysterious platypus. But Syms quickly works out that taking animals from their natural habitat might not be the right thing to do. Can Syms find a way to collect and explore the world in a way that doesn’t compromise his moral compass?

Created by Grin and Tonic Theatre Troupe and directed by Bryan Nason, Warning: Small Parts is perfect for young audiences aged 5-12, proving that no matter how small you are, you can do big things!

You can catch the opening performance at the Art Is... Festival on Sunday May 31, with the show continuing to tour around the state until June 12.

Syms Convington is on the road to collect the imaginations of children from all over Victoria, from 31 May to 12 June 2015.
