Earlier this year we congratulated 12 young Creative Leaders in the making for their vital contribution to our Creative Leadership Program, before they each went home to their regional Victorian communities.

At the conclusion of the program, Joseph Noonan from Portland, Toby McKenzie from Camperdown, Lucy Johnson from Terang and Letesha Stephens from Stawell were awarded Regional Arts Victoria’s Bridget Lloyd Jones Memorial Prize, providing seed funding for their exceptional winning team project idea, which they pitched to a panel of expert judges.

We have been working closely with this inspirational young creative team, and are delighted to update you that their innovative, site-specific work, Silo Opera is well under way. We spent the day with them in Stawell earlier this month and look forward to providing you with the event details in the near future. The Silo Opera team are being mentored by Malcolm Sanders, Creative Arts Facilitator for Regional Arts Victoria, based in the Central Highlands, and Jillian Pearce, Artistic Director at Y Space, and Cultural Development Officer at Horsham Rural City Council.

In the coming month we will be opening registrations for the 2015 Creative Leadership program so keep your eye out for details!
