Outline of the Workshop

Each three-hour workshop will include discussion, sharing ideas and tips on how to choose programs that suit your community, how to market your shows effectively and how to develop and grow your audience over time. Workbooks with further resources and ideas will be available to each participant. Workshop content will include:

Choosing Your Shows (Programming): where to look for shows that will suit your community, how to assess shows for suitability, and how to put a program of shows together over the longer term to attract the kinds of audiences you want in future.

Marketing Your Shows: how to market and promote your shows, to attract the kind of audiences you’re looking for; tips on ticket pricing, social media, effective email marketing, group bookings, and using local networks.

Growing Your Audience: starting from scratch or looking at who currently attends your shows, we’ll look at ways to build audiences for particular types of shows, and how your program and marketing choices will affect the audience you build.
