What is Guarantee Against Loss?
Guarantee Against Loss (GAL) is a program to promote new performances in regional Victoria by offering financial security to venues to present professional performing arts productions.
The program works by agreeing to cover unforeseen box office losses made by the performance, up to a pre-determined amount.
GAL 1 is administered by Regional Arts Victoria (RAV). It supports single presentations of professional inbound shows where the artist is not from the area. The program is designed to encourage audience development and supports community venues in programming work that is new to that community.

Applicants for GAL 1 must be group members of Regional Arts Victoria and registered presenters with Regional Arts Victoria's presenter network.
GAL 2 is managed by Arts Victoria. It supports performing arts venues and volunteer presenters part of an itinerised tour. All enquiries and applications for GAL 2 should be directed to Arts Victoria on 03 9954 5000.
Please note that the Guarantee Against Loss program supports presenters or venues. The program does not support producers or creators of touring shows.
How do I register as a Presenter?
All arts groups with access to a performance venue can register with Regional Arts Victoria's presenter network for free! To do so your group must first become a RAV Group Member. Once you are a group member, you can download the Presenter Registration Form (43KB) and post it with the requested information to PO Box 600, Port Melbourne VIC 3207.
Registered Presenters are given access to information and advice about staging and promoting performances in their area.
