Regional Arts Fund

The Regional Arts Fund (RAF) is an Australian Government initiative supporting the arts in regional, remote and very remote/isolated Australia. The Australian Government has determined the objectives and general eligibility of the fund. Regional Arts Victoria (RAV) administers the RAF in Victoria (the funding does not come from RAV but from the Federal Government).

Applications are now open for projects commencing after Jaunary 2011. Applications close August 9 2010. For guidelines and application forms, please click here or go to www.rav.net.au/funding-and-resources/fund

Regional Arts Fund Quick Response Grants are now open, and will be closed between December 10 2010 and January 9 2011.

The Regional Arts Fund is designed to support sustainable cultural development in regional and remote Australia and assists the professional skills development of regional artists. The program also facilitates the formation of partnerships and networks, and supports strategic initiatives that address disadvantage in remote, isolated and Indigenous communities.

The grant guidelines and application forms are designed to assist applicants in applying for support under the scheme. Please read them carefully and discuss your application with your nearest
Regional Arts Development Officer (RADO) or email Ella McDonald.

For Art's Sake - Small Art Supplies Fund

The For Art’s Sake Auction was held at Abbotsford Convent on 8 November 2009. A wide range of metropolitan and regional artists, including some from the affected areas themselves, donated artworks which were auctioned by Andrew Embling of Landmark Embling in Alexandra.

$16,284 was raised for the benefit of fire-affected artists in the Murrindindi Shire area and Regional Arts Victoria has been asked to distribute it as requested.

In the 14 months since the fires, replacement of small equipment and art supplies has been something that many artists have needed. Many artists lost everything and others need some extra support to return to their art, which benefits not only their recovery, but also the recovery of their communities.

Arts Recovery Quick Response Fund (ARQ)

Applications for the ARQ are now closed.

Following the devastation of the recent bushfires, the ARQ grants were an immediate response to the need for small arts projects during the early recovery phase.

Grants of up to a maximum of $2,500 were provided to over 40 projects in Victoria to support local artists to work in their communities on projects that contribute to the recovery effort.

For summaries of the successful projects, please download information (by month) from the side panel on the right.

This new fund has been made possible by the Victorian State Government through Arts Victoria.

Funding for National Tours

Regional Arts Victoria (RAV) is not a funding body. It is a not-for-profit arts organisation which administers funding on behalf of Government agencies for the benefit of regional communities.

Arts Across Victoria submits applications to Playing Australia (Federal Government) for financial support of the National tours it intends to manage.

Financial Security

The Guarantee Against Loss (GAL) is a program to promote new performances in regional Victoria by offering financial security to venues to present professional performing arts productions.

GAL1 supports single presentations of professional inbound shows where the artist is new to the community and is performing original work.

For more information or to apply for GAL 1 click here.

GAL2 is managed directly by Arts Victoria and is open to performing arts venues and volunteer presenters for itinerised touring shows.

For more information or to apply for GAL 2, visit the Arts Victoria website.
