Introduction

Welcome to Regional Arts Victoria’s February enews. It’s been a difficult month across the country, as widespread floods have wreaked havoc across both regional and metropolitan areas. Everyone at RAV sends our best wishes to all those who have been affected, and for those Victorians who have been inundated, we’d like to try and help. We’re asking you to contact us and let us know how your community has been impacted. Have community arts facilities been damaged? Historical records destroyed? Has your personal arts practice suffered a result? Or, is your community now struggling with a lack of morale? We would like to try and assist in the recovery process, but would like to know what it is that you need.

Submissions need only be brief, but please email them to modwyer@rav.net.au with a contact name and phone number.

In other news, RAV is gearing up for a celebration to ring in its 2011 season of tours projects. We would love it if you are able to join us on Wednesday 23 February at the Gasworks Theatre in Albert Park. The evening will showcase some of the fantastic artists we’ll be working with this year, and will also launch our new brand.
