Issue 19 - eGroundwork October 2010

Introduction

Welcome to the October edition of eGroundwork, Regional Arts Victoria's monthly enewsletter.

What isn't happening at RAV right now?! Long Paddock our national tour forum, was run alongside the APACA Conference in mid-September, and both were a huge success. Venues around the Australia are now casting their votes on which productions will tour for 2012, and there are some amazing options to choose available - from children's plays to gothic theatre.

The Illuminated by Fire projects are also about to launch. Illuminated by Fire is a two-year statewide arts project that explores the place of fire in our community - from the tragedy of Black Saturday to cooking on a wood-fired stove. Further details are below but projects will begin to launch from 15 October, so make sure you get along to the performances, installations, and exhibitions that are happening across the state.

October a fantastic month for regional festivals! Wherever you are in Victoria there is sure to be something on - Discover Dunkeld, Portland's Upwelling Festival, the Anglesea Music Festival are just a few of options available for the weekend. Of course, if you're in Melbourne, you'll be able to catch the tail-end of the Fringe Festival and the avant garde delights of the Melbourne Festival. So much to do, so little time!

Finally, of course, we'd like to say a huge thank-you to all those who filled out our survey. We were delighted with the response and will be able to use the information in the promotion and coordination of our tours  and projects...it's a huge help. Lucky winners of the free group membership were the Torquay Theatre Troupe, the winner of the individual membership was Bronwyn Blaiklock and the recipienct of 5 double passes to RAV shows was Polly Christie. Many thanks again to everyone who participated, we really value your assistance.

Happy reading!

Best wishes,

Maria O'Dwyer (Media and Membership Manager) and the RAV team.
