Issue 34 - Regional Arts Victoria February 2012 e-newsletter

Introduction

Welcome to 2012, and Regional Arts Victoria’s first e-newsletter for the New Year!

We hope you’ve had a fantastic break and are getting excited about the year ahead. Here at Regional Arts Victoria we’re looking forward to more developments in regional arts, touring and education – it’s sure to be a fabulous year.

Our Creative Leadership Program will kick off at the beginning of February. 12 of Victoria’s best and brightest young arts leaders will converge on Melbourne to learn all about the arts industry. Participants will experience a 9-day immersion in arts management, which will help them to plan their future direction and to bring skills back to their communities. We can’t wait to welcome them, and are so excited to have such a wealth of young talent in our midst!

Applications for Round 1 2012 of the Regional Arts Fund are due on 13 March so if you’re a regional arts practitioner with a great project on the cards, make sure you apply. Our Regional Arts Development Officers are running information sessions across the state to help get you started; further details on these and applications are below.

In touring news, applications for 2012 Long Paddock are also now open. As Australia’s premier national touring forum, Long Paddock will run on 3-4 April 2012 at the Albury Entertainment Centre. Co-hosted by Regional Arts Victoria and Albury Entertainment Centre on behalf of the Blue Heeler Network, Long Paddock is geared towards national touring in 2013. If you’re a producer with a show that you’d like to tour, don’t miss this opportunity to have your production seen by those in the know. Further details on how to apply are located below.

Finally, for those of you keen to work at Regional Arts Victoria, some employment opportunities have recently arisen across a variety of roles and departments in Port Melbourne and the regions. Why not get the year off to a good start and apply?! Roles and position descriptions are below, or can be found on our website.

A huge range of great news stories and opportunities are listed below – happy reading!

Best wishes,

The RAV Team.
